*older owl<\/span><\/p>\n

*needs to be willing to dress the part when on duty<\/span><\/p>\n

*needs to be able to pull off wise-owl-owl voice when necessary <\/span><\/p>\n

*must be able to sit at the information desk for extended periods (if you have back or wing injuries please consider if this is the correct role for you)<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d been aware of his lack, of course <\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d been told not be be stupid about it<\/span><\/p>\n

By friends<\/span><\/p>\n

By family <\/span><\/p>\n

By former workmates <\/span><\/p>\n

But he knew<\/span><\/p>\n

He knew they were looking for a *wise* distinguished old owl<\/span><\/p>\n

Not a {stupid, thick as two planks, can\u2019t get anything right ever can you? useless} owl<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet somehow <\/span><\/p>\n

Somehow <\/span><\/p>\n

They said yes<\/span><\/p>\n

They offered him the job <\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d got it<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d been accepted <\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d got a magical contract to be paid for life<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019d never go hungry again – not even if he was {stupid and useless and got it wrong again}<\/span><\/p>\n

What was he going to DO?<\/span><\/p>\n

Any moment now the magister librarians were going to figure out he was a total fraud<\/span><\/p>\n

Find out he was a fraud<\/span><\/p>\n

Find out he was stupid<\/span><\/p>\n

Find out he got things wrong<\/span><\/p>\n
