Telescreen<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n You barrel towards me,<\/p>\n a dump truck loaded<\/p>\n with feces. If I refuse<\/p>\n <\/p>\n delivery, you step on<\/p>\n the accelerator, and<\/p>\n the shit comes even faster.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Once, I could<\/p>\n bolt the door<\/p>\n to stop your words<\/p>\n from arriving,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n but now they<\/p>\n arrive around the clock,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n like unwanted packages<\/p>\n from messengers on<\/p>\n an endless shift.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The worst part is,<\/p>\n I signed up for this,<\/p>\n and keep coming back for more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Despite my discontent,<\/p>\n I\u2019ll return again and again,<\/p>\n until I\u2019m too old and ill<\/p>\n to flip the on switch anymore.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019m sorry, George Orwell.<\/p>\n I promised to resist, but<\/p>\n in the end, was seduced<\/p>\n by the thrall of eternal connection.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" My eyes feel like they’re permanently crossed, but I have finished Poem #12!
