{"id":116267,"date":"2022-06-25T20:40:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-26T00:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=116267"},"modified":"2022-07-19T13:34:33","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T17:34:33","slug":"may-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/may-morning\/","title":{"rendered":"May Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They amass to raise the sun,<br \/>\nThe ropes a braid of chord and song,<br \/>\nThe darkness folk to cheer them on<br \/>\nAs through the night they gather on.<\/p>\n<p>In the starlight, start to weave<br \/>\nA netting out of ringing feet,<br \/>\nAnd momentarily believe<br \/>\nAs the shout goes up to \u2018heave!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>First light like a banner pale,<br \/>\nA gauzy dawn, perhaps too frail?<br \/>\nTo lift the weight of summer\u2019s sail<br \/>\nBut never do the dancers fail.<\/p>\n<p>As she mounts into the air<br \/>\nUnimaginable pennants flare,<br \/>\nAmber, gold and yet more rare<br \/>\nTo celebrate this cosmic care.<\/p>\n<p>They amass to raise the sun<br \/>\nTheir ropes a braid unfailing strong<br \/>\nOf love and hope and dance and song,<br \/>\nAnd though they laugh to move along<\/p>\n<p>They will be back again, ere long.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They amass to raise the sun, The ropes a braid of chord and song, The darkness folk to cheer them on As through the night they gather on.
