{"id":116446,"date":"2022-06-25T20:50:31","date_gmt":"2022-06-26T00:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=116446"},"modified":"2022-06-25T20:50:31","modified_gmt":"2022-06-26T00:50:31","slug":"dogspeak-12-naming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/dogspeak-12-naming\/","title":{"rendered":"DogSpeak #12  Naming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DogSpeak #12 Naming<\/p>\n<p>Adam wasn\u2019t around<br \/>\nwhen I got here and besides,<br \/>\nhe probably ran out of names<br \/>\nlong ago.<\/p>\n<p>So I came here, rescued<br \/>\nfrom an unspeakable place<br \/>\nsans name; they called me<br \/>\ncutie and smoochie puppy<br \/>\nbut mostly they called me no<br \/>\nand loud and often.<\/p>\n<p>I thought my name was no<br \/>\nbut when they started calling me<br \/>\nbad puppy, out-out-out, and not<br \/>\non the carpet!, I was just glad<br \/>\nto have a happy home.<\/p>\n<p>When they started calling me<br \/>\nDoodle, I ignored them; I already<br \/>\nhad several names and wasn\u2019t<br \/>\nlooking for another; it was hard<br \/>\nto keep track.<\/p>\n<p>In time, no stopped, out-out-out<br \/>\ndisappeared in the backyard<br \/>\nsomewhere, and they pulled up<br \/>\nall the carpet.<\/p>\n<p>Now that I am a little older,<br \/>\nI just have one name.
