I’ve left God on hold
\nfor far too long-
\nstarted to pray-
\nonly to tell him
\nthat I’d be right back
\nand never came back<\/p>\n
I wonder why it is-
\nhe sticks around.
\nIt’s not like I make him
\na priority-
\nExcept for the obvious<\/p>\n
when things go wrong
\nwhen I need prayer
\nWhen there’s a death
\nor simply when I feel wronged<\/p>\n
Why is that?<\/p>\n
anytime I call out
\nhe’s there
\nanytime that my life is in danger
\nHe’s there
\nanytime I need something
\nyou guessed it
\nHe’s there<\/p>\n
I’m sorry God
\nI’m a horrible human being
\nselfish
\nobnoxious
\ntoxic
\nunworthy of love and respect
\njust-
\nUnworthy<\/p>\n
I don’t understand how or why
\nyou love me
\nhow others love me
\nhow they care for me
\nit annoys and angers me
\nsometimes<\/p>\n
Do you do well to be so angry
\nmy little crab?<\/p>\n
what was that?
\nI swear I hear someone
\nsaying I have no right to
\nbe angry.
\nBut that can’t be true<\/p>\n
I’ll pay it no mind
\nIt doesn’t matter
\nother people’s opinions-
\nof course, I do well
\nto be angry
\nIt is my right<\/p>\n
I’m just going to leave
\nit here and see what happens
\nI have my comfort and my needs
\nare met.
