For years and years the fisherman had a friend.
\nIt aided him– but, was equally pest.
\nSought by the sturgeon, large mouth and small mouth
\nHook, line and sinker did the trick every time.<\/p>\n
Enough fish to make you happy, fill your
\nnet again and again. The Mayfly is the bait
\nof which the fish can’t resist. Over rock and
\nunder dock, the swarm is something
\ngrand for all to see. The sky darkened black,
\nHell on earth if but only for a brief time.<\/p>\n
For the show is over as they lay their on the bed,
\none would mistake them for dead but they are molting.
\nRiverbanks come alive with a million wings<\/p>\n
yearning to meet in one final swarm.
\nOnly for a moment, only once this year.
\nUnderstand the meaning, understand the plight.<\/p>\n
The Mayfly is just as important to the earth as you are I.
\nOur future is with them and on them we rely.<\/p>\n
Forgo the chit chat and let’s get to the point,
\nRead up on the little guy and then you will know.
\nYou will never look at the Mayfly the same way again.<\/p>\n
