Regimented robots<\/p>\n
Being groomed for gunshots,<\/p>\n
It wouldn’t be acceptable<\/p>\n
To reject a less delectable<\/p>\n
Dish if the orders were given,<\/p>\n
And the food had been served –<\/p>\n
Who on Earth<\/p>\n
Did you think you were?<\/p>\n
You’d have to learn your lesson.<\/p>\n
And yet the revolting slop refused to obey,<\/p>\n
It couldn’t be\u00a0swallowed in any kind of way –<\/p>\n
Stuck in the back of the throat like a lie,<\/p>\n
Made the little robot think it was about to die<\/p>\n
But it wouldn’t dare protest –<\/p>\n
It would have to digest<\/p>\n
In the preordained manner<\/p>\n
Dictated by her captor –<\/p>\n
The lunchtime supervisor<\/p>\n
The gastric brutaliser.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The little robot knew exactly how many times to chew<\/p>\n
So it didn’t get hit by the spoon<\/p>\n
But this culinary horror<\/p>\n
Was causing some bother<\/p>\n
And though the robot didn’t dare comment,<\/p>\n
It was about to vomit,<\/p>\n
Its eyes were secreting distress<\/p>\n
And its stomach was about to violently confess<\/p>\n
No – it wouldn’t conform<\/p>\n
It wouldn’t supress<\/p>\n
Nothing would make it acquiesce<\/p>\n
To this one request.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Then from nowhere<\/p>\n
The jug tipped over<\/p>\n
And the lunchtime supervisor<\/p>\n
The gastric brutaliser<\/p>\n
Was momentarily distracted with mopping<\/p>\n
So the little robot’s gagging and sobbing<\/p>\n
Could be brought to an end<\/p>\n
By the swift swapping<\/p>\n
Of its plate for a friend’s<\/p>\n
Who would eat the same meal twice<\/p>\n
And make a sacrifice<\/p>\n
So the other\u00a0 little robot didn’t have to pay the price<\/p>\n
For not finishing a meal that wasn’t nice.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Good little robots,<\/p>\n
Groomed for gunshots.<\/p>\n
