DogSpeak #14 Raceway<\/p>\n
Welcome folks to the Indy 500!
\nNo cars, no tracks, just two dogs
\nand a stairway.<\/p>\n
Get set for some excitement
\nas we ready at the start of lap 1.
\nMotors revving, we\u2019re inching over
\nthe line, go! Uh oh, here comes Mommy
\nwith a big basket full of clean laundry.
\nShe\u2019s two steps up and we can\u2019t stop!<\/p>\n
She saw us, sidestepped, and we tied
\nat the landing. Lap 2 is down, another tie.
\nWe\u2019re huffing hard but ready for lap 3 \u2013
\nwe\u2019re intent \u2013 it\u2019s race day! Oh no,
\nhere comes Mommy again, this time
\non her cell phone. She knows us,
\nknows our games, but she\u2019s distracted.
\nWhoa, Mommy held on, down went
\nthe empty basket, landed on my brother
\nand he\u2019s in a cage, haha! Mommy\u2019s
\nyelling, he\u2019s running with the basket
\non his back and I\u2019m on the couch
\nlaughing.<\/p>\n
Dad\u2019s in the basement, hears the ruckus
\nand is stomping up the steps. My brother
\nshucks the basket, we\u2019re at the top of
\nthe stairs in a flash, falling fast. Dad
\nsees us, puts his hands up to warn us
\nbut it\u2019s too late, we\u2019re tumbling down,
\narms, legs, paws, and tails spinning;
\nwe land on a pile of dog blankets, soft
\nand cushy, a face full of kisses for Dad
\nfor catching us. But we got caught
\nfor the last time.<\/p>\n
Sorry folks but the raceway is closed
\nfor the season, forever really. We\u2019re
\ngrounded \u2013 that means we have to stay
\non one floor, no tandem stair races,
\nno laps up and down, but lots of sloppy
\nkisses for Mommy and Daddy.<\/p>\n
We can\u2019t be stopped, we need to race.
\nNow to set up some dirt tracks across
\nthe backyard, around the veggie garden,
\nthrough the garage, and to the pool, yeah!
\nStayed tuned for the next race day!<\/p>\n
