It\u2019s impolite to stare at the audience.<\/p>\n<p>A party after the show, and he so shyly approached,<br \/>\nI, in pure ecstatic bliss, a bit of a drunken mess \u2013 that fast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m your father,\u201d he said to me.<br \/>\n\u201cI believe you,\u201d I laughed. \u201cI knew my mother had an affair!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou didn\u2019t have to be rude!\u201d he said, and walked away.<br \/>\nHe was serious. I was just kidding, not believing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, wait, I must just look like her. I hope you find her.\u201d<br \/>\nI implored, attempting to heal the wound I\u2019d made.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI already have. It\u2019s you.\u201d He turned, and left.<br \/>\nNot one more word did we speak until his death.<\/p>\n<p>When I finally remembered six months later,<br \/>\nhis words saved my life. I\u2019m not crazy!<\/p>\n<p>I am not the person on my vital statistics!<br \/>\nThey lied! They cheated! They tried to paint me crazy,<\/p>\n<p>but I am not crazy. I am his child.<br \/>\nAnd, the power he gave me in so few words,<\/p>\n<p>just like a father would \u2013 he gave me peace.<br \/>\nJust like a father does \u2013 he saved my life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams I was Amanda, and he missed the poignance.
