\nEvery single one of six.<\/p>\n
One let’s hot water flow across his back.
\nCheeks red and eyes elsewhere.
\nAs a baby he took alphabet letters
\nAnd arranged them to subway lines
\nHe didn’t talk then.
\nHis foam letters screamed out
\nThis is my passion
\nMy longing
\nHe told me, splashing in the water.<\/p>\n
Another meticously arranges his ocean animals
\nTub ledge, skipping in.
\nA careful museum collection.<\/p>\n
One just floats.
\nYou can’t float in five inches.
\nHe tries.
\nOn his back
\nEyes shut tight
\nSmile broad.<\/p>\n
The last three attack together.
\nTight pack formation.
\nRipping down poofs, emptying shampoo.
\nRunning water, breeching the tubs edge.
\nToys on every surface
\nThey push and shove.<\/p>\n
At bath time I shout
\nRelease the Kraken!<\/p>\n
They haven’t actually killed the bathroom
\nThey try.
\nTentacles stretching out.
\nSearching for weakness.
\nTheir arms and legs in unison on a path of destruction
