\nand most of my poetry has been
\nstream-of-consciousness,
\nnot really ordered.
\nThat’s the kind of poetry I write best,
\nmore emotion than sense.
\nlogicless.
\nBut gods I am beginning to feel this.
\nSeventeen poems isn’t that hard, in the grand scheme of things –
\nIt’s the timing, it’s the
\n“my Autistic brain isn’t made for this”,
\nit’s the “sleep is a struggle except I sleep all the time”
\nchronic-fatigue-PTSD-combo
\nand I am
\nreally<\/em>
\nfeeling this.
\nI have regrets.
\nLike, a lot of them.
\nBut 17 hours in and that’s 17 poems done
\nAnd I am 7 hours and 7 poems away from sleep.
\nSo even though I’m tired I’m pretty excited, too.
\nI’m doing something cool,
\nsomething new –
\nI kinda think NaNoWriMo’s easier.
\n50k words in a month
\nmeans I do not spend 24 hours straight
