{"id":118904,"date":"2022-06-26T01:23:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-26T05:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/?p=118904"},"modified":"2022-06-28T17:28:58","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T21:28:58","slug":"hour-17-2022-rainy-surprise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/hour-17-2022-rainy-surprise\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 17 (2022)- Rainy Surprise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stormy clouds fill the sky<br \/>\nI look and run for cover<br \/>\nRain begins to fall<br \/>\n     And I wait\u2026.<br \/>\n          I wait\u2026.<br \/>\n               And wait some more.<\/p>\n<p>After the deluge is done<br \/>\nI retreat from my shelter<br \/>\nI glance at the skies<br \/>\n     And I stare\u2026.<br \/>\n          I gasp\u2026..<br \/>\n               Then I run.<\/p>\n<p>A rainbow fills the sky<br \/>\nThe end is quite near<br \/>\nI make my way towards it<br \/>\n     I walk faster\u2026.<br \/>\n          And faster\u2026.<br \/>\n               As fast as I can.<\/p>\n<p>In the distance I spy<br \/>\nA shine of brilliant gold<br \/>\nI peer even closer<br \/>\n     And take a step\u2026.<br \/>\n          A step nearer\u2026.<br \/>\n               And another step.<\/p>\n<p>As I creep closer<br \/>\nI see a flash of green<br \/>\nWith a startled breath<br \/>\n     I tilt my head\u2026.<br \/>\n          I widen my eyes\u2026.<br \/>\n               I shout \u201cA-ha!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A leprechaun stands before me<br \/>\nHis hands holding the pot of gold.<br \/>\nBefore I could run to grab him.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He is gone, only an echo of his laughter remains.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stormy clouds fill the sky I look and run for cover Rain begins to fall And I wait\u2026.
