I tire<\/p>\n

of my kids<\/p>\n

on somedays<\/p>\n

I want to keep them safe<\/p>\n

I can’t<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I put them first<\/p>\n

but lack the emotional ability to provide<\/p>\n

they push my boundaries<\/p>\n

casting shadows over my own memories<\/p>\n

of self<\/p>\n

I’m too busy trying to provide<\/p>\n

its unnatural<\/p>\n

what I am expected to be<\/p>\n

in this world<\/p>\n

I ache when I respond with lack of regard<\/p>\n

and offer apologies<\/p>\n

and hugs<\/p>\n

but never enough.<\/p>\n

what makes a parent toxic?<\/p>\n
