Green Eyed Monster<\/p>\n
Medusa was born a mortal beauty, the daughter to two sea gods
\nand sister to monsters.<\/p>\n
Her beauty became her undoing.
\nAn enraptured Poseidon seduced and impregnated her
\nin Athena’s temple, enraging the virgin goddess,
\nwho then turned Medusa into the most hideous monster of all.<\/p>\n
As if that weren’t revenge enough, Athena then gave
\nthe location of Medusa’s island to Perseus,
\nwho cut off her head and used it to turn his enemies to stone.<\/p>\n
Freeing Medusa’s head from her body also released
\nher twin children, Pegasus and Chrysaor, from her neck.
\nBlood from her severed head dripped onto Lebanon
\nas Perseus flew with it overhead, dooming it to a plague of snakes.<\/p>\n
