Joy, even in fear and pain<\/p>\n
infected toe, with pus and stain<\/p>\n
out a week to heal and drain<\/p>\n
a glimpse of retirement<\/p>\n
doing whatever the week will bring.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Happiness, despite one oozing digit<\/p>\n
is easy when sleep-in days are in it<\/p>\n
sitting, reading, playing games<\/p>\n
keeping company with my canines<\/p>\n
and lizards, jumping in the vines.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Even podiatrist, he could mend<\/p>\n
my tolerance for sharps, he did extend<\/p>\n
a kindly clerk, became my friend<\/p>\n
her prayers brought panic to an end.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Joy, a moment it did seem<\/p>\n
but while it lasted, a real-life dream<\/p>\n
then poetry comes, and extends the stream<\/p>\n
continuing my jubilee thru workweek\u2019s regime.<\/p>\n
