It’s hard to describe
\nmy feeling of joy
\nand the randomness of it.
\nIt was a normal day
\nschool holidays are in full swing
\nthen something took over my body
\nit’s often puzzling.
\nI had always been quite uptight
\nalways wanting to know what was to come
\nbut at this moment
\nI was in complete bliss.
\nI climbed the fence
\nneeded to get to the stables
\nwhere I’d often talk to the horses
\nas if they needed a friend.
\nAs my feet hit the ground
\nI felt a sense of calm and joy
\nthere was no rush, no plans,
\njust happy to be around.
\nIt’s a feeling I have never forgotten
\na young boy with the world in front of him.<\/p>\n
22 years on,
\nthe setting has changed
\nbut I have constant joy
\nit’s not a fleeting moment
\nit’s permanent.
\nNo fences needed to be jumped
\nno horses needed to be spoken to.
\nJust a girl
