Second Breakfast <\/p>\n
I reached the Cafe after a sleepless night
\nA major deal was pending, my nerves were strung tight
\nThe client was flying in from the other coast
\nSo I ordered a coffee and one slice of toast.<\/p>\n
I then got a message that his plane was delayed,
\nI ordered an omlette, my nerves were getting frayed.
\nI had to rearrange the morning’s schedule
\nI really needed to put this deal through. <\/p>\n
I wiped my lips and decided to wait some more,
\nA bell rang over the Caf\u00e9’s swing door.
\nIt was my client, he’d taken an early flight
\nI welcomed him with a nervous delight.<\/p>\n
“Nice place,” he remarked, “Let’s talk after we order,”
\nI knew I’d have to try even harder
\nTo smile as I forced down my second breakfast
\nBut soon I became so fully immersed<\/p>\n
In my spiel, that finally I shook hands on the deal
\nAnd that gave me such a delightful feel
\nThat I returned to the office, where I gloated
\nOver my coup, until my tummy grew bloated
