No Place Like Home<\/p>\n

The concierge was made aware in advance
\nthat this was to be a second honeymoon,
\nno expense spared for the middle aged lovebirds
\nreigniting their romance with tired, damp matches.<\/p>\n

A nest was made near the water,
\nwhose lapping made the wife need to pee,
\nand they were to lay on a goose down mattress
\nand pillows that made him sneeze.<\/p>\n

Gamely, they gave it a go, tried to rest
\nin their old lover’s knot, that position that knows
\nwhat to do with the extra arm,
\nonly to awaken hours later, entangled and aching.<\/p>\n

Ant colonies had bitten in unseemly places,
\nthe champagne made her flatulent,
\nshellfish in the hors d’oeuvres swelled him like a sausage,
\nand a sudden squall soaked them.<\/p>\n

So miserable they had to laugh,
\nthey found a reason to commiserate,
\na new story to tell the kids (with more than a bit of distance),
