I miss the soft summer breezes<\/p>\n

And digging cracked toes<\/p>\n

Into the silken sands of Rainbow Beach<\/p>\n

I miss playing tennis on free courts<\/p>\n

And knowing every exhibit<\/p>\n

In the Museum of Science and Industry<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss the midnight movies<\/p>\n

And riding the el to work<\/p>\n

Or whenever the mood moved me<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss being pushed by winter\u2019s hawk<\/p>\n

And the needles of icy wind<\/p>\n

Piercing whatever skin I left exposed<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss carrying my book bag like a weapon<\/p>\n

And chasing away the mugger<\/p>\n

As I walked home that night<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss dancing in the clubs<\/p>\n

And through the streets to the tune<\/p>\n

Of Sam and Smokey and Whitney<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss the cussing crowds<\/p>\n

And the unexpected serenades<\/p>\n

While riding the bus<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I miss the good times that killed me<\/p>\n

And the bad times that made me strong<\/p>\n
