{"id":12199,"date":"2015-06-14T00:07:52","date_gmt":"2015-06-14T04:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=12199"},"modified":"2015-06-14T00:07:52","modified_gmt":"2015-06-14T04:07:52","slug":"poem-16-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/poem-16-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem #16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wonder how much you think you know me.<br \/>\nI mean, according to many, my emotions are an open book,<br \/>\nand I have no talent for telling tall-tales,<br \/>\neven if my life depended on it.<br \/>\nI definitely wouldn&#8217;t be able to play poker.<br \/>\nBut those are all very obvious, very visual.<br \/>\nDeep down, how well do you know me?<\/p>\n<p>Can you follow the rambling, off-course plummet of my train of thought?<br \/>\nDon&#8217;t get distracted by the tracks,<br \/>\nI barely use them anymore.<\/p>\n<p>If we got into a heated argument,<br \/>\nwould you know what part of it could drive me to tears?<br \/>\nOr why?<br \/>\nThat kind of backstory,<br \/>\nonly a select few are privy to such things.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel you know me,<br \/>\nI&#8217;d be interested to see what you think you know about me.<br \/>\nAnd trust me,<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t appreciate poking and prying,<br \/>\nwhether it be with clummsy bare hands,<br \/>\nor the precision of a surgeon with a scalpel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wonder how much you think you know me.
