I got my love of learning from my father
\nHe also gave it to my brother
\nI got my love of people from my mother
\nwho also shared this with my sister
\nI am reminded I am not alone by my friend
\nand forced to interact by my cat
\nOf all who know me, the best is my cat
\nthough, the one who understood me was my father
\nTry as much as she can, I tend to hide from my friend
\nand have never shared much with my brother
\nWhen we were young, I thought I knew my sister
\nbut have never understood my mother
\nIt has been a tough life for my mother
\ncausing her to complain, even about my cat
\nShe depends on so much from my sister
\neven more so than she had my father
\nthough she has always favored my brother
\nshe never failed to act like a Mom to my friend
\nand now older, life is different for my friend
\nI find she acts more and more like my mother
\nbut still doesn’t talk much to my brother
\nat least she has made up with my cat
\nand understands how much I miss my father
\nsomething I don’t talk about, even with my sister
\nIt is ironic how much alike are my sister
\nand this now older friend
\nI wonder how things would be different with my father
\nwhat would have changed for my mother
\nI know he would have loved my cat
\nand he would be proud of my brother
\nBut would I have stayed close with my brother
\nwould things have moved so completely for my sister
\nwould I have been there to meet my cat
\nso much is connected to that day, my friend
\nso much bitterness wrapped up my mother
\non the day cancer took my father
\nIt changed my brother, It changed my friend
\nIt destroyed my sister, It destroyed my mother
