A sestina is a poem with six stanzas of six lines and a final triplet, all stanzas having the same six words at the line-ends in six different sequences that follow a fixed pattern, and with all six words appearing in the closing three-line envoi.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>I came in the back of the line, always Last;<\/p>\n<p>They thought they were going the right way, only I came Home.<\/p>\n<p>I will see them again before long, in our final Grave&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>We will shake hands and take our kiss from Death.<\/p>\n<p>Because after all, we did what we meant to in Life,<\/p>\n<p>We came in through nothingness and again were Born.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In us every galaxy of the cosmos was Born,<\/p>\n<p>the light from those pulsars will always Last,<\/p>\n<p>even after our eyes rot away in Death.<\/p>\n<p>it\u2019s not that bad at all, the shelter of a Grave,<\/p>\n<p>Always searching for a place to rest, and finally finding Home.<\/p>\n<p>A struggle no longer at the end of Life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wickedness absolved and sins sanctified through Life.<\/p>\n<p>when angels and demons crept onto our shoulders to be Born.<\/p>\n<p>as if the light from heaven would peak through the clouds at Last,<\/p>\n<p>we eagerly await the gentle grace of transient Death.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus holds my hand walking me to the Grave;<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll follow no one, because only I know my way to my Home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In between my eyes, deep in my mind, that is where I find Home.<\/p>\n<p>Pity be all those lost and searching never finding True Life,<\/p>\n<p>Samsara will wrap them back around, another chance to be Born.<\/p>\n<p>And from that first, hopefully timeless breath to last<\/p>\n<p>A thousand lives met in a single moment at Death.<\/p>\n<p>Laying beside every manifestation of Life, a universal Grave;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll climb our way, as spirits, from the Grave.<\/p>\n<p>ascend a ladder of lightning to find Home,<\/p>\n<p>and when our fate is gone, we\u2019ll finally be at peace at Last,<\/p>\n<p>but the relief will be fleeting, because it is our nature to be Born,<\/p>\n<p>to suffer through Life,<\/p>\n<p>and savor the release of Death.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Do you long for the kiss of Death?<\/p>\n<p>To dive into your forgotten Grave,<\/p>\n<p>So you may finally know the warmth of Home,<\/p>\n<p>Be rid of your aching Life.<\/p>\n<p>and maybe take on a new form once you\u2019ve been Born.<\/p>\n<p>Can you remember the life you lived Last?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Or is this the Last time you will welcome Death?<\/p>\n<p>Find your Spirit-Home beyond your Grave,<\/p>\n<p>and if you never take Life for granted, you will be Born.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Write a sestina!
