I hope to create in this life more than a noise
\nand to leave behind, as I go, more than an echo.
\nIt might seem like vanity, but truly
\nit’s an ambition. For my dreams are surreal
\nand my soul is electric
\nand I hope my words are not forgotten.<\/p>\n
Ideas lose value, if they are forgotten,
\nAnd everything becomes just background noise
\nfrom the chatter to static electric,
\nuseless gossip surrounding you like an echo
\nof the world so surreal,
\nthat it’s no longer perceivable truly.<\/p>\n
As for myself, yours truly,
\nI am not yet forgotten,
\nbut saying “remembered” would be a bit too surreal.
\nAs I try to tune out all the noise,
\nto avoid turning my writing into an echo,
\nmy mind tunes into the steady buzzing electric.<\/p>\n
Let’s keep our lives in a state of electric,
\nplugged into devices, as if we are truly
\nnothing but an echo
\nof our human nature, long forgotten.
\nOur ancestors would find the city noise
\nconfusing and our lifestyle surreal.<\/p>\n
We made our art surreal
\nas if life is not moving, not electric
\nenough on its own, as if we need the noise,
\nthe disturbance, the distortion to truly
\nsee what would otherwise be forgotten
\nlike a fading echo.<\/p>\n
Let your own words become an echo,
\nso they reach farther, even if they sound surreal.
\nBetter that, than be entirely forgotten
\nin this age of electric
\ncommunications. Say what you mean truly,
\nand don’t become part of the noise.<\/p>\n
We live in the age of echo, surrounded by the electric
\nand the surreal. I’ll make my words truly
