The problem with poetry<\/p>\n
Is there are too many rules<\/p>\n
A\u00a0sonnet is this way<\/p>\n
You learn a\u00a0haiku in school<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There’s the ode and Epistle<\/p>\n
The tanka, the bop<\/p>\n
Seriously these people have got to be stopped<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A sestina should be massacred<\/p>\n
A Villanelle should be vilified<\/p>\n
A\u00a0\u00a0poem\u00a0should be wonder<\/p>\n
The\u00a0student\u00a0runs away\u00a0terrified<\/p>\n
I know I’m\u00a0 just ranting<\/p>\n
Poetry must have a form<\/p>\n
But I am sounding the charge<\/p>\n
Wailing the alarm<\/p>\n
A poem should have rhythm<\/p>\n
Just the right sound<\/p>\n
But do we really need quintains<\/p>\n
Roundels make me frown<\/p>\n
No give\u00a0me free verse<\/p>\n
With nary a form<\/p>\n
I’ll write you my best<\/p>\n
Don’t make me conform<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
