In the first grade<\/span><\/p>\n

I met Dick and Jane<\/span><\/p>\n

There were adventures to follow<\/span><\/p>\n

When we looked and saw Spot run<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I remember sounding out<\/span><\/p>\n

The words that filled the pages<\/span><\/p>\n

It was like I couldn\u2019t get enough<\/span><\/p>\n

And I wanted more<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As education progressed<\/span><\/p>\n

I learned more about words<\/span><\/p>\n

The tenses of verbs and conjugation<\/span><\/p>\n

The proper nouns of people and places<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then rules, grammar, and punctuation<\/span><\/p>\n

Commas, semicolons, apostrophes<\/span><\/p>\n

How they all worked together<\/span><\/p>\n

And changed the context of words<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There their and they\u2019re<\/span><\/p>\n

Were loves of mine<\/span><\/p>\n

And I was only too excited<\/span><\/p>\n

To assist when there was confusion<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ah- the power to convey, create, communicate<\/span><\/p>\n

Exactly and precisely what you mean<\/span><\/p>\n

Punctuate, to the point- period<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, I do love words<\/span><\/p>\n
