My heart has never had a home, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Feeling lost on this planet as if<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This body was invited too late in history to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dance with this soul.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My heart has always awakened to the\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hollow echoes of longing to be <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Somewhere else entirely,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Somewhere on an island of purposeful isolation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where I choose my own existence,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Never needing to rely on anything but the tides to keep me afloat.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My heart has never understood how to break away<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From a practical reality where nothing ever goes right<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And follow its whispering cries that life transcends<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything that is even remotely known to us.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My heart has never felt safe, always questioning\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cryptic miracle of existence as if understanding it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Would make it any less of an absurd phenomenon.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My heart has always been afraid<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That it will forever feel out of place,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blind to the idea that<\/span> someone or something<\/span>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Could feel more like home than home does. <\/span>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That music traveling through shivers down my skin<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Keeps me more grounded than my own thoughts ever could.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each page of a book invites me into hundreds of dwellings<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where I will always be taken in,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As if I have never left.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Poetry makes me fall in love with fantasies that <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Will one day become mine. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Traveling the world leaves crumbs of my soul\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In every city I have ever been a part of,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Welding me into the landscape of <\/span>everywhere,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Making my home a part of <\/span>everything<\/span><\/i>;\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The stars and grass and air and that which is in between<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Becoming me, where my own skin has become my home.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And love becomes myself. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Version 2:<\/p>\n

What is love, if not an experiment<\/p>\n

Released by the government to test<\/p>\n
