It was a day<\/pre>\n
Like many days past.<\/p>\n
Up, showered and dressed<\/p>\n
Tasty cereal down the hatch.<\/p>\n
It’s Saturday, fun day<\/p>\n
No work, only play<\/p>\n
But this day, this Saturday<\/p>\n
Is Poetry Marathon Day!<\/p>\n
Getting started for some<\/p>\n
Can start out a bit slow<\/p>\n
I too feel a bit nervous<\/p>\n
But I’m ready, here I go.<\/p>\n
Prompt number one<\/p>\n
I might savor a bit.<\/p>\n
40 minutes have passed<\/p>\n
And this poem is……….shit!<\/strong><\/p>\n
But I know, words will flow<\/p>\n
Once I settle in<\/p>\n
Slow starts are ok<\/p>\n
So I’ll begin to begin.<\/p>\n
I feel like a pianist<\/p>\n
Warming up playing scales<\/p>\n
Time to play or to say<\/p>\n
Be it verse, song or tales.<\/p>\n
And throughout this day<\/p>\n
I’ll share myself, heart and soul<\/p>\n
