For some philosophical reason<\/p>\n
everyone wonders about<\/p>\n
Why the chicken?<\/p>\n
Why not a cow?<\/p>\n
Why can’t\u00a0we just count eggs<\/p>\n
And be happy with that?<\/p>\n

Poor chicken<\/p>\n
I hope he didn’t get lost<\/p>\n
Did he take a suitcase<\/p>\n
A bandana\u00a0with him?<\/p>\n
He was\u00a0just a poor chicken<\/p>\n
Didn’t start with much<\/p>\n
Probably out to make a name for himself<\/p>\n
I hope when they took that chicken census<\/p>\n
He stood up proudly<\/p>\n
Stating his name with fervor<\/p>\n
Before he took off<\/p>\n
to places unknown<\/p>\n
I hope he had a happy life<\/p>\n
Full of seeds and friends<\/p>\n
Hope he stayed in some nice places<\/p>\n
I hope he avoided being someone’s dinner<\/p>\n
I hope his chicken children and grand children<\/p>\n
Shared his story<\/p>\n
And at least one of them<\/p>\n
Will take that road too<\/p>\n
After he has been properly counted of course.<\/p>\n
