Sleep came easy last night
\nour old sheets know us well
\nsoftened to bare threads yet
\nwe can\u2019t bear to part with them
\njust yet.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, I found a new scent
\nin my favorite laundry detergent
\nand a matching softener —
\nit had me happy-dancing in Aisle 5
\nof the supermarket. Shoppers
\nstopped, looked for a camera set-up,
\nwas this a commercial for a new product?
\nand curiosity drew them down the aisle.
\nI had stopped dancing by then, exclaimed
\nmy delight in finding Lavender Fields,
\nscrewed off the softener cap and passed
\nthe bottle around like green-label Jack
\nat our family reunions.<\/p>\n

\nand made the bed to heavenly scent.<\/p>\n
\nToday I\u2019m going back to the store
\nto add my name to the waiting list;
\nI need a case of this intoxicating elixir.
