{"id":127888,"date":"2023-09-02T10:13:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T14:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=127888"},"modified":"2023-09-02T10:13:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T14:13:44","slug":"dearpastor9am","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/dearpastor9am\/","title":{"rendered":"Dearpastor9am"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Pastor;<\/p>\n<p>I know that I\u2019m not<br \/>\nthe easiest person<br \/>\nto get to know &#8211;<br \/>\nto get close to<br \/>\nI appreciate that you<br \/>\neven try to.<\/p>\n<p>I know that I am not<br \/>\nthe best example of how<br \/>\nto live a godly life<br \/>\nI might swear<br \/>\nI might drink<br \/>\nHell, I might cheat<br \/>\nI am human<\/p>\n<p>I have my dark secrets<br \/>\nthat I am far too ashamed<br \/>\nto voice to anyone<br \/>\nso I keep quiet<br \/>\nWhat would you think<br \/>\nif you knew THAT about me?<\/p>\n<p>You have never turned<br \/>\nme away and you<br \/>\nhave never once said<br \/>\n\u201cSorry, can\u2019t help you\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You have, however, always<br \/>\ncheered me on, listened, and tried<br \/>\nyour best to help me.<br \/>\nI\u2019ll let you in on a secret<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, that\u2019s all that keeps me<br \/>\nalive.<br \/>\nWhen I don\u2019t know from one breath<br \/>\nto another<br \/>\nif my decisions are going to save me<br \/>\nor kill me.<\/p>\n<p>I know that there have been<br \/>\na handful of times<br \/>\nwhere you wonder if anything<br \/>\nyou say or do is getting through<br \/>\nand making a dent in that thick<br \/>\nshell of mine.<\/p>\n<p>Yes it does.<\/p>\n<p>There have been so many times<br \/>\nwhere things you say or do<br \/>\nmake me stop and realize that<br \/>\nI\u2019ve got to stop living for man<br \/>\nand start living for God.<\/p>\n<p>Truth is, Pastor, I don\u2019t know<br \/>\nwhat I would do if I didn\u2019t have people<br \/>\nlike you in my life to help steer me along<br \/>\nthank you will always sound insufficient<br \/>\nbut it is what I have to offer.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Pastor; I know that I\u2019m not the easiest person to get to know &#8211; to get close to I appreciate that you even try to.
