Crusty, no longer soft.
\n<\/span>Just dry and crumbly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Congealed grease
\n<\/span>Little blobs sitting there staring at me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t remember what I was doing ten years ago.
\n<\/span>Maybe writing a poem.<\/span><\/p>\n

No matter.<\/p>\n

<\/span>What matters
\n<\/span>is today.<\/span><\/p>\n

No, not today.<\/span><\/p>\n

What matters is this moment.
\n<\/span>A deep breath.
\n<\/span>Soft fur.
\n<\/span>A loving joke.<\/span><\/p>\n

I take today,
\n<\/span>this moment,
\nand toss rest away.<\/span><\/p>\n
