Hour 3<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
“Seawalls…”<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n California dreamin’<\/p>\n been there, done that.<\/p>\n East and Gulf Coasts…<\/p>\n Japan, other green-riden places…<\/p>\n Norway, Portugal, Crete, Turkey,<\/p>\n Great Britain… and places that aren’t places anymore.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I’ve paused on docks, promontories,\u00a0 battlements, bridges;<\/p>\n in meadows, gardens, pubs, malls;<\/p>\n at empty places, within crowded spaces,<\/p>\n days, nights, mid-naughts – all;<\/p>\n along ship rails, desert dunes, glacier ice,<\/p>\n city curbs, park benches, steam grates, asphalt tangles,<\/p>\n and within church pews and at too many tombstones marking souls.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each is but a Seawall in my mind’s view.<\/p>\n A place where thoughts coalesce, meander –<\/p>\n wander, wonder<\/p>\n …and flow unbidden,<\/p>\n where dreams fade like steps along the shore<\/p>\n as tides bring “waves” til the eyes …see…<\/p>\n no more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And sometimes along the way<\/p>\n you share the space – but\u00a0 seldom the moment –<\/p>\n each has their own perceptions needing expressed –<\/p>\n addressed – breaths taken, held, then lost –<\/p>\n til time gives up its ghosts<\/p>\n and life moves past – each now<\/p>\n becomes a “then”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So many echoes are behind my eyes,<\/p>\n and the years are strewn with “silence”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chris<\/p>\n (C) Chris Twyford 9\/2\/2023<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hour 3 9\/02\/2023 “Seawalls…” California dreamin’ been there, done that.
