{"id":129622,"date":"2023-09-02T12:09:10","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T16:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=129622"},"modified":"2023-09-02T12:09:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T16:09:10","slug":"remember-your-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/remember-your-worth\/","title":{"rendered":"Remember Your Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Remember Your Worth<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Dedicated to the First Nations of USA<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re Worth It Too\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Society may not think we are.<\/p>\n<p>But we are.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are adorned by the stars with turquoise.<\/p>\n<p>Entrusted to keep the land safe.<\/p>\n<p>Looked up to for wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are Indigenous.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve survived the many faces of death:<\/p>\n<p>drought, disease, and genocide.<\/p>\n<p>We rose up like a rose in the sidewalk,<\/p>\n<p>and bloomed with endurance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Others may call us ugly and inferior.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, we taught people skills,<\/p>\n<p>we should them how to survive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are so worth more than a pint of beer.<\/p>\n<p>More than a grain of rice.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, we travelled through 4 worlds<\/p>\n<p>and were led by our ancestors to where we are today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Never forget,<\/p>\n<p>You are more than just<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNative American\u201d,<\/p>\n<p>you are Indigenous<\/p>\n<p>and surpassed \u201cManifest Destiny.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember Your Worth Dedicated to the First Nations of USA &nbsp; \u201cWe\u2019re Worth It Too\u201d Society may not think we are.
