{"id":129722,"date":"2023-09-02T12:40:17","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T16:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=129722"},"modified":"2023-09-10T02:05:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-10T06:05:48","slug":"since-september-of-1996","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/since-september-of-1996\/","title":{"rendered":"Since September of 1996"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some have called us soul mates<br \/>\nwith good reason<br \/>\nsince we both love such important<br \/>\nthings and ideas<br \/>\nand dedicated vessals of hope.<\/p>\n<p>We met in a writers group<br \/>\nat a time when neither of us were looking<br \/>\nfor a mate &#8212; just sharing the written words<br \/>\nthat could not be contained inside<br \/>\nany longer.<\/p>\n<p>As different as our writings were:<br \/>\nhis were backed by degrees in literature and philosophy,<br \/>\nand mine were simply the mind wanderings<br \/>\nof a sincere woman<br \/>\nwith a very full life.<\/p>\n<p>His twin daughters and my sons and daughters<br \/>\napproved,<br \/>\nand he endeared himself<br \/>\nto my parents and siblings<br \/>\nwith deliberate and genuine kindness.<\/p>\n<p>Promises made now twenty plus years ago<br \/>\nhave held.<br \/>\nA few disagreements, and<br \/>\nmany agreements . . .<br \/>\n&#8220;Cherished&#8221; describes us well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some have called us soul mates with good reason since we both love such important things and ideas and dedicated vessals of hope.
