Mountain Pinecones<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Early morning Colorado dog walk,<\/p>\n

snow still visible on high peaks.<\/p>\n

Enraptured by pine trees.<\/p>\n

Maybe fir. Probably not cedar.<\/p>\n

Lacking knowledge, not appreciation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Woody pinecones,<\/p>\n

geometrically egg shaped, female,<\/p>\n

crafted for procreation, catch pollen.<\/p>\n

Tough scaley plates protect seeds from predators.<\/p>\n

Gazed in amazement at their beauty,<\/p>\n

so small yet rivaled the mountain vista.<\/p>\n

Cleaned up after Caddi,<\/p>\n

continued with my ordinary day.<\/p>\n
