It still needs a lot of work.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rejection<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I<\/p>\n<p>All life is a rejection of what went before.<\/p>\n<p>We must grow and change.<\/p>\n<p>To stand still in one place is to die before death.<\/p>\n<p>In every choice lies a path of rejection.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>II<\/p>\n<p>Beauty is uncovered, a bud wrapped tenderly in a leaf,<\/p>\n<p>it opens and presents its fragrance and color,<\/p>\n<p>then withers and dries and falls to the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The flower rejects the bud, the seed rejects the flower.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>III<\/p>\n<p>Rejection is a flavor of living.<\/p>\n<p>One we must taste and put aside, or swallow whole.<\/p>\n<p>To do or be done to. No one wants to stand alone.<\/p>\n<p>Rejection makes way for the new.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>IV<\/p>\n<p>We must endure what we cannot reject.<\/p>\n<p>Broken hearts, growing old, failures and fears.<\/p>\n<p>Dreams and wishes propel us.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes good parents or education lift us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>V<\/p>\n<p>Life flows from rejection to rejection,<\/p>\n<p>and hope to hope. We want to know, we want to<\/p>\n<p>be loved. Need for acceptance is learned from birth.<\/p>\n<p>Seeking a soul mate motivates our actions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VI<\/p>\n<p>We wallow in youth and squander our gifts<\/p>\n<p>on things we didn\u2019t set out to do.<\/p>\n<p>Our tank empties. We can no longer keep pace.<\/p>\n<p>There is a point where we start to reject life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VII<\/p>\n<p>The corner is turned, not with flash and squealing wheels,<\/p>\n<p>as imagined, but in the quiet, profound way the deaf must hear.<\/p>\n<p>One day an honest face stares at us from the mirror<\/p>\n<p>and without words says what we always dreaded.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VIII<\/p>\n<p>The child rejects the infant, the man rejects the boy.<\/p>\n<p>The old man laughs at what the young man doesn\u2019t know<\/p>\n<p>and the spirit laughs at the old man frozen in the mirror.<\/p>\n<p>The future is still veiled.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>IX<\/p>\n<p>Rejection builds character, the wise used to say.<\/p>\n<p>It creates the stones in the path of life we walk.<\/p>\n<p>It frames the bottom and the top points of life.<\/p>\n<p>It reveals the sum of who we become.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>X<\/p>\n<p>In every choice lies a path of rejection.<\/p>\n<p>The flower rejects the bud, the seed rejects the flower.<\/p>\n<p>Rejection makes way for the new.<\/p>\n<p>We must endure what we cannot reject.<\/p>\n<p>There is a point where we even start to reject life.<\/p>\n<p>The corner is turned in a quiet, profound way,<\/p>\n<p>but the future remains veiled.<\/p>\n<p>The point where we start to reject life<\/p>\n<p>reveals the sum of who we have become.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>THIS STILL NEEDS LOTS OF WORK!!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(NOTE: I did not like the prompt given, so I wrote something different.
