A game so unworthy<\/p>\n

keeping up with the Jones’<\/p>\n

creating a false image<\/p>\n

leading to a throw of stones<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I do need the competition<\/p>\n

after all, it’s hard enough<\/p>\n

winning little battles<\/p>\n

and struggling through the rough<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pulling with calloused hands<\/p>\n

in a silly tug ‘o war<\/p>\n

creating the grass stains<\/p>\n

and pain that I abhor<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My lust for wealth has withered<\/p>\n

I want the simple life<\/p>\n

three meals a day, that’s all<\/p>\n

avoiding hours of strife<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

understanding and tolerance<\/p>\n

putting judgment to a halt<\/p>\n

taking a deep breath<\/p>\n

no worries for who’s at fault<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But still, a better world we must strive<\/p>\n

listening instead of boasting<\/p>\n

the modest application of love<\/p>\n

the mantra well worth toasting<\/p>\n
