<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
suspicious muddy boot prints<\/p>\n
brazenly left and obviously<\/p>\n
meant to be seem<\/p>\n
unless the perpetrator<\/p>\n
wanted to throw us off<\/p>\n
the track of what\u2019s really the score<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
or maybe it was someone<\/p>\n
so oblivious that they<\/p>\n
were just bumbling into<\/p>\n
another heist or maybe<\/p>\n
their first one since being<\/p>\n
so clueless you\u2019d think they\u2019d be caught<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
or maybe this is a metaphor<\/p>\n
and our lives are that house<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and we are pawns in the game<\/p>\n
of those pulling the strings<\/p>\n
of puppets we vote into office<\/p>\n
and buy our stuff from<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
that don\u2019t make it that hard<\/p>\n
to see their boot prints<\/p>\n
all over the labor we\u2019ve<\/p>\n
done to try to create<\/p>\n
what we think as a better<\/p>\n
life as they pull the strings<\/p>\n
tighter and we can almost<\/p>\n
feel our limbs constrict<\/p>\n
while forces we can\u2019t control<\/p>\n
tell us what to do.<\/p>\n
