the death of four crew members,<\/p>\n
and the treason of one. the Galya rocked<\/p>\n
to and fro, across the endless sea<\/p>\n
as the evening sun faded, the captain stilled.<\/p>\n
a great flash of moonlight, blanketed the vessel,<\/p>\n
blinded all but the captain.<\/p>\n
her crew stood dazed, but she ran towards the bow.<\/p>\n
moonlight marked the edge, and it called to her,<\/p>\n
beckoning her forward.<\/p>\n
the sea fell way to the edge – to nothingness<\/p>\n
and still it called. the captain looked back<\/p>\n
to her crew and her ship, voiced an “I’m sorry,”<\/p>\n
and jumped, but did not fall.<\/p>\n
instead she floated above the ship and the sea,<\/p>\n
