The words came to my ear<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the taught string<\/span><\/p>\n

Between two cans<\/span><\/p>\n

I looked to see the speaker<\/span><\/p>\n

But I could only see my friend-<\/span><\/p>\n

A girl at the other end<\/span><\/p>\n

I looked away and the voice came again<\/span><\/p>\n

This time I whipped quickly around<\/span><\/p>\n

And caught him, can in hand<\/span><\/p>\n

He was smiling as he dropped it and ran<\/span><\/p>\n

I was in 5<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> grade and I remember it <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Like it was yesterday<\/span><\/p>\n

The first time, that anyone<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of family <\/span><\/p>\n
