Describe it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Conversations with God<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Should have been the stuff of nightmarish fright.<\/p>\n<p>But strangely it wasn\u2019t, it felt right,<\/p>\n<p>as I stepped up to the edge of the night.<\/p>\n<p>To the very last ledge of light.<\/p>\n<p>Below the beyond, it was Bright.<\/p>\n<p>And white. And White. White.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Are you God,\u2019 I asked?<\/p>\n<p>Aware that this was not the time to rhyme.<\/p>\n<p>I knew the light; I lit it every morning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lighted my lamp, daily.<\/p>\n<p>Cleansed. After my shower.<\/p>\n<p>Tense. I did nothing, said nothing,<\/p>\n<p>till I lit my little <em>diya<\/em><\/p>\n<p>and prayed for the day ahead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We meet every morning,\u2019 said the light.<\/p>\n<p>Shame floods my blood,<\/p>\n<p>my prayers were nought but greed.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations. Wants. Needs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>You get the plumber to fix the leak today, God<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and I promise to write 2000 words.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018You get her an A in biology, God<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and I promise to let her party with friends this weekend.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And more recently,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018You make my Ma better, God<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and I promise to give up CandyCrush forever<\/em>.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Can we talk now, please God?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>I whispered. I Prayed. We Talked.<\/p>\n<p>And talked, as the ground beneath me<\/p>\n<p>swelled and curved and rolled<\/p>\n<p>back to Life.
