Take for Granted\u00a0\u00a0 (Poem 6)<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
there\u2019s a lot that we<\/p>\n
TAKE FOR GRANTED<\/p>\n
like social media<\/p>\n
farmers markets in summer<\/p>\n
the sun coming up in the east<\/p>\n
and setting in the west<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
but what if these assumptions<\/p>\n
and a lot of other ones<\/p>\n
were false?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
could it be that our lives<\/p>\n
and all the complexities<\/p>\n
of this planet are just<\/p>\n
constructs of a third grader<\/p>\n
who made a terrarium<\/p>\n
on planet Xymtrador<\/p>\n
in solar system Piscrimidin?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On another day he might<\/p>\n
have made the earth flat<\/p>\n
while making us the same as now\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Well\u2026permit me to jump into this possibility<\/p>\n
and peek over the edge to see what is there\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll be the scout and report what I see:<\/p>\n
The other planets are the same as the round versions<\/p>\n
but they look like interstellar frying pans.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The stars are too far to tell, but it seems they\u2019re<\/p>\n
less pointy and the light from them doesn\u2019t twinkle so much<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and if I look beyond the stars\u2026way, way far away<\/p>\n
farther than one would guess you can look<\/p>\n
there seems to be a shrouded round childish face<\/p>\n
and yes, if I look in just the right way<\/p>\n
I can see him better\u2026and it looks like he\u2019s laughing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
