FOUR BROWN DOTS<\/p>\n
I was in the USA,<\/p>\n
Four awe-struck months,<\/p>\n
when I realized, people camped.<\/p>\n
They left everything behind,<\/p>\n
and took off into the wilderness.<\/p>\n
And I was hooked.<\/p>\n
My husband was horrified.<\/p>\n
Why? We have a five and six-year-old!<\/p>\n
The relatives in India asked,<\/p>\n
why? Only homeless people camp<\/p>\n
for necessity, not for fun!<\/p>\n
The children didn\u2019t care,<\/p>\n
all could sleep in one bed!<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We test-camped in the Adirondacks<\/p>\n
for seven rainy days, without proper equipment.<\/p>\n
The rain drops on the camper,<\/p>\n
and mold on the canvas,<\/p>\n
drove us home.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Undeterred, we got equipped.<\/p>\n
That summer, we camped,<\/p>\n
Across the country,<\/p>\n
for four weeks.<\/p>\n
We drove through Deadwood, SD,<\/p>\n
with a thousand bikers,<\/p>\n
and couldn\u2019t believe the sight.<\/p>\n
The incongruity didn\u2019t strike.<\/p>\n
Us four brown dots<\/p>\n
in a sea of white.<\/p>\n
Everyone treated us well<\/p>\n
and thought our kids cute.<\/p>\n
To this day,<\/p>\n
