{"id":134321,"date":"2023-09-02T17:30:58","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T21:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=134321"},"modified":"2023-09-02T17:30:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T21:30:58","slug":"athena-the-bischon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/athena-the-bischon\/","title":{"rendered":"Athena the Bischon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Athena the Bischon was a wild dog.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We bought her partly to keep our old dog Cappy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From growing old too quickly<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And the way she played with him did keep him young for a long time..\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She would chase and run through his legs barking and snapping<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Showing herself as Athena the wild dog<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She tested her 15 pound body against the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">80 pound body of our older Golden Retriever<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One time we took her to our friend\u2019s house<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And then we went to a movie theatre, leaving her and the other dog home alone<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Just to show that Athena was a wild dog<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She opened the refrigerator and ate hamburger<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She was a great and crazy hunter too, rooting out the homes\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">where baby rabbits lived\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and attacking the mothers and babies<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But that was just Athena\u2019s nature as a wild dog. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Athena the Bischon was a wild dog.
