and the land beneath its spires<\/p>\n
Bards spun tales of his skill,<\/p>\n
his grace, and the wounds<\/p>\n
that would lead him to his cave<\/p>\n
He peers out from within<\/p>\n
the rock face, motion slowed<\/p>\n
by his fairweather gait<\/p>\n
and looks beyond the hill<\/p>\n
beyond a warrior’s pride<\/p>\n
beyond the wildflowers<\/p>\n
who would wither within<\/p>\n
the\u00a0disorder of the seasons<\/p>\n
Through the marigolds,<\/p>\n
a young man appears<\/p>\n
valiance written<\/p>\n
on his unburdened face<\/p>\n
The withered knight<\/p>\n
steps into the mid-day sun<\/p>\n
to greet the hero seeking<\/p>\n
his hard-earned wisdom<\/p>\n
