The trees have dreams<\/p>\n
the earth drowns in memories<\/p>\n
while blossoms never learn<\/p>\n
the secrets of earth.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Sun emboldens the crops<\/p>\n
to fight for survival<\/p>\n
despite lack of rain and fertilizer.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A new moon brings joy<\/p>\n
a brightness shining<\/p>\n
night and day– a cycle,<\/p>\n
a dream, a rapture.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Plants grow with patience and blessings<\/p>\n
bringing forth new life stacked on the old.<\/p>\n
God paints the world in technicolor<\/p>\n
magical and sensual to see.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But when man comes in,<\/p>\n
shrapnel and mines lay deep in the earth<\/p>\n
hidden for eons, buried heap upon heap–<\/p>\n
with broken dreams of sharing this earth.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Dread and disaster, fear and helplessness<\/p>\n
corrode our foundations<\/p>\n
leaving body and soul<\/p>\n
adrift for all time.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Acceptance of the “other”<\/p>\n
(unlike orphans in an empty schoolyard)<\/p>\n
will bring peace and tranquility,<\/p>\n
keeping us from isolation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Hidden in our prayers flows love,<\/p>\n
