“Curbside…”<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We used to have 8 inch high – curbs<\/p>\n really!<\/p>\n Great for sitting and sharing<\/p>\n that KNOWING pause of wisdom –<\/p>\n just behind our eyes…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Then they repaved and repaved,<\/p>\n and repaved<\/p>\n ’til the roads are higher than the sidewalks<\/p>\n – go figure.<\/p>\n And ya KNOW they never saw THAT coming!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Now the porch steps are the “curbs”<\/p>\n we sit upon,<\/p>\n and our shared “wisdom” varies to the risks<\/p>\n we are willing to take –<\/p>\n to reach beyond ourselves<\/p>\n when life so often happens at hand.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is a quiet place –<\/p>\n even Mormons seldom pause.<\/p>\n Squirrels and the odd hawks wander by.<\/p>\n We even lose trees<\/p>\n and that is beyond rare elsewhere.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Secret gardens,<\/p>\n whom to call for repairs…<\/p>\n replacing blinds;<\/p>\n dealing with plumbing; furnace spiders<\/p>\n (the ones that block the gas feed lines inside).<\/p>\n Kibitzing on each manager’s\u00a0 method<\/p>\n of dealing with issues only they seem to see.<\/p>\n Always “Us” vs “them” ’til it isn’t.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here its relatively safe, sedate,<\/p>\n quiet (’til it isn’t), and friendly (’til you’re irked).<\/p>\n “Curbs” to live by.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chris<\/p>\n (C) Chris Twyford 9\/2\/2023<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hour 12 9\/2\/2023 “Curbside…” We used to have 8 inch high – curbs really!
