I worked as professor of electrical engineering
\nfor 38 years. I just read some books, memorized
\nthem and told what I had memorized to students

Tough job? mathematics, science, construction

Ya, that was the public image. I lectured four
\nhours per week, played games behind closed
\ndoors, and took a nap in the afternoons<\/p>\n
Told everybody we were overworked and well
\nunderpaid.<\/p>\n
Really? I had one month vacation around the
\nChristmas, more than three months of vacation
\nduring summers, could have stayed at home
\nwhen I did not have to give a lecture at the
\nschool, which was just four hours per week.<\/p>\n
I also worked for General Electric as consultant
\nfor Aircraft Engine Vibration Analyst. That more
\nthan doubled my salary.<\/p>\n
At home I worked on stock trading, made
\na $4,000 fund into $1,400,000 in about
\n15 years, that quadrupled my salary.<\/p>\n
Nex time a professor says he is underpaid,
