see what others see and feel as we feel<\/p>\n
speak our words and feel them Rumble from your breath,<\/p>\n
face the dark colors of humanity,<\/p>\n
see the results accomplished by greed,<\/p>\n
how malnourishly we feed,<\/p>\n
anoint yourself in humanity,<\/p>\n
poverty is neatly pressed.<\/p>\n
wear the uniform of poor,<\/p>\n
as you pedal over puddles,<\/p>\n
accumulate pennies<\/p>\n
gather aluminum and plastic bottles in trash bags,<\/p>\n
ride the Metro,<\/p>\n
see the children full of dreams streaming from their eyes,<\/p>\n
Beautiful Smiles that Echo lifetimes<\/p>\n
see them play and watch them grow<\/p>\n
witness them emit that glow<\/p>\n
that gives life to the dead hours of unfulfilled dreams that lives in you.<\/p>\n
Water then and teach them so . . .<\/p>\n
Stare into them, love them slow,<\/p>\n
then, suddenly, let them go<\/p>\n
into the Mist of gunpowder, sirens.<\/p>\n
into that noisy silence,<\/p>\n
for you must spend your days and hours and minutes<\/p>\n
and your health is felt diminished<\/p>\n
and your years have turned to minutes<\/p>\n
only minutes you enjoy<\/p>\n
and see glimpses of your precious<\/p>\n
little girl or little boy<\/p>\n
they no longer care for toys<\/p>\n
they no longer seem to care<\/p>\n
since you are hardly ever there<\/p>\n
they developed other interests<\/p>\n
they no longer have the Glow.<\/p>\n
but you have to work and slave<\/p>\n
to afford a lonely grave<\/p>\n
What about the years and years of ourselves that we gave . . .<\/p>\n
