Give us the lost
\nwho are seeing for the first time that they\u2019ve
\nnever actually seen many things clearly before.
\nGive us the self-absorbed, and we will show them where they intersect with their neighbors.
\nWe\u2019ll meet them in the process of becoming a bit more human.
\nHarness the abundance of energy and force the eye of the clever rogue toward the Good.<\/p>\n
Give us the quiet pubescents
\nWho wear coats during heat waves
\nAnd shorts during snow storms.
\nGive us impulsive youth.
\nWe\u2019ll try to stay one step ahead of them, and
\nhelp them survive their teenage years.<\/p>\n
Then we\u2019ll march.
\nMarch to the homes of legislatures
\nwho threaten our pay, who misuse your children\u2019s funding,
\nand who make stupid laws that keep information from them.
\nWe\u2019ll beat down the doors of those who make this hard job
\neven harder.
\nWe\u2019ll march onto the sports field and support teenagers and their families.
\nWe\u2019ll march into our second jobs and pretend that we aren\u2019t dog tired.
\nWe\u2019ll march to the store to buy the supplies we need to help the teenagers.<\/p>\n
To wrangle them, we will study
\nmake, process, plan, and
\ncreate
\nuntil we are sharp enough to be the
